The Crossing gathers for worship on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am at the Stone Quarry in Byron, IL.  The Crossing also scatters throughout our communities the rest of the week with an outward Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) mindset because reaching new people is equally important as Sunday morning worship.  Randy Pope writes, “Scattering and gathering complement each other in the life of the church.  Without intentional and mission-oriented scattering, the gathering simply becomes a weekly worship and teaching session.”

The Crossing purposefully does not crowd the week with programs and centralized activities so that people are given the time and the freedom to make connections with new people and be active participants in a Life Transformation Group of their choice.  We are convinced this decentralized and scattered approach to being the church in our home communities is the most effective way to fulfill our mission to make disciples who make disciples of Jesus Christ.  Instead of asking, “What is the church doing?” we would like people to ask themselves, “What are we as followers of Jesus Christ doing?”  After all, as followers of Jesus, we are the church!
